Rock Climbing Horseshoe Canyon Guidebook - $31.99

I recently took my first rock climbing trip to Horseshoe Canyon Ranch in Arkansas. I'm continually amazed at all the amazing outdoor sport climbing the midwest has to offer. Horseshoe Canyon Ranch is a 5 hour drive from St. Louis, but it's well worth the trip!

At the end of day 2 of our 3 day rock climbing trip we headed to the Roman Wall on the East Side of Horseshoe Canyon Ranch where Ryan Wittich climbed Spartacus 5.11c.

Spartacus 5.11c is just to the right of the classic sport climbing routes Commodus 5.10b and Maximus 5.12a. The main difference between Spartacus 5.11c and the previous two is that the route ends just before the roof, but that doesn't make it an easier climb. The route is pretty crimpy throughout and the crux is a tricky sequence at the top.

My Essential Rock Climbing Gear

As always it was amazing watching Ryan climb Spartacus 5.11c at Horseshoe Canyon Ranch. Such a pleasure to be invited along on these outdoor rock climbing trips with him and be able to learn from watching him climb!
